In efforts to serve the underprivileged in the Jamshedpur community in India, DRAGO allure took on a quite different task aside from its promotion of children’s education in which it was founded on. On April 18, 2015, DRAGO allure made clothing donations to a village affected by leprosy. The founders of DRAGO allure held a clothing drive the previous week on the campus of XLRI, in which college students donated new or lightly worn clothing articles. This included shoes, kurtas, saris, sweaters, and t-shirts.
“It was a huge satisfaction to see the smiles on the people’s faces when we personally delivered clothing to each one of them, especially after seeing their unfortunate conditions,” said co-founder Akshay Chaudhary. The company was able to establish a great connection with this new village in which it plans on continuing its efforts to help out in the future.
DRAGO allure’s mission statement is “To act as a channel for social change, while being a distinguished and fashionable brand.” The company carried out its mission once again. It provided a platform in which others could help out and make a positive impact on the local community. Many college students are looking to make a difference in the world, but simply do not know how or where to start.
DRAGO allure wants to continue to be that platform in which people can personally contribute to their local communities. The company will look to hold more clothing drives in the future as it proved to be a huge success this time. In addition to helping villages in India, DRAGO allure now plans to address certain areas in the U.S. and will begin assisting underprivileged communities there as well.
